Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect only what we need to match you with ideas, take your payment and deliver your plan. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, we do not use tracking or analytics cookies, and we do not send marketing emails.
1. Who is responsible

2. What we collect
Quiz answers
Your choices (for example goals, interests, skills, budget, available time, things you own) and anything you type in the optional open fields (skills, location, extra notes). Please do not type sensitive information there; it is not needed.
Purchase details
When you buy, Stripe collects your email, name, billing country and payment details. We receive your email, name, country, the amount and the payment status. We never receive or store your full card number.
Your plan
The plan written for you, the idea and plan level you chose, and the email address you send it to.
Technical data
Your IP address is used briefly to limit how often the free personalization can be requested (to prevent abuse). We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it, for up to one hour. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs for a short time.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for marketing, or automated decisions with legal effects. The matching of ideas is automated, but it only suggests ideas; you decide.
4. AI processing
To write your personal ideas and plan, we send your quiz answers (not your payment details) to Anthropic's Claude API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through the API is not used to train their models by default, and it is kept only for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring. 5. Who helps us
We use these service providers. They process data on our behalf, only to run the service (Stripe also acts as an independent controller for payment and fraud checks).

6. Transfers outside the EU
Some providers are in the USA. Where data leaves the EU/EEA, it is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for certified companies) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Your plan and order: as long as needed to keep your plan link working, up to 3 years after purchase, then deleted. You can ask us to delete it earlier.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (up to 10 years), kept in Stripe.
- Free personalization results: up to 30 days (so the same answers do not have to be processed twice).
- Hashed IP for abuse limits: up to 1 hour. Email sending limits per order: up to 24 hours.
8. Cookies and browser storage
We do not set cookies and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers. Your quiz answers and chosen idea are saved in your own browser (local storage) so you can come back to your result. Personal notes are kept in session storage until you close the tab. "Retake quiz" clears them, and you can clear them any time in your browser settings. Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies needed for payment and fraud prevention (see Stripe's privacy policy).
9. Your rights
You can ask us to: see the data we have about you, correct it, delete it, limit its use, give it to you in a portable format, or stop using it where we rely on legitimate interest. Write to orders@startwiseplan.com from the email you used at checkout. We reply within one month.
If you are in the EU, you can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (vdai.lrv.lt) or the authority in your own country.
10. US privacy rights
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. To use your rights, email us. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
11. Security
All connections use HTTPS. Secret keys are kept only on the server. Plans are stored under a long random order ID, and only people with your link can open them, so do not share the link publicly. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
12. Children
Start Wise Plan is not intended for anyone under 16, and purchases require you to be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
We will update this page if we change how we use data. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes affecting existing customers, we will email you.
